- Three Gorges – Yichang (4 Days / 3 Nights)
Day 1 Chongqing – Yangtze River Cruise
Our guide
will greet you at
Chongqing airport and then
take you to board the Yangtze Cruise vessel by car where you will spend the following 3 nights. The cruise will travel through the famous Yangtze River as
it winds its way through the spectacular scenery of the Three Gorges, disembarking to visit the
historical river cities, fish
villages and passing by other river traffic during this spectacular cruise tour.
Day 2 Yangtze River
Cruise
A shore excursion with a guide to Fengdu (The
Ghost City or Snow Jade Cave), Shibao Pagoda or Wanxian and then
return to the vessel afterwards.
Another highlight of the day is to enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Party
in the evening. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board)
Day 3 Yangtze River
Cruise
A shore excursion with a guide to Shennong
Stream or Lesser Three Gorges
in the
morning and enjoying the Captain’s Farewell Banquet in the
evening. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board)
Day 4 Yangtze River
Cruise - Yichang
Yichang is the terminal of your cruise tour. You
will disembark the cruise vessel and continue excursion by coach with to visit
the Three Gorges Dam in the morning around 10:30-11:00am, and
finally you will be transferred to Yichang airport for your departure flight. (Breakfast
is included)
2. Upstream: Yichang - Three Gorges – Chongqing ( 5 Days / 4 Nights
)
Day 1 Yichang – Yangtze River
Cruise
On your
arrival in Yichang, the local guide will greet you at the Airport and take you to board the Yangtze Cruise vessel by
car where you will spend the following 4 nights.
Day 2 Yangtze River
Cruise
In the
morning, you will have an excursion to the Three Gorges Dam in
Yichang with land transfer and a guide. In the evening you can enjoy the Captain’s Welcome
Party. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board)
Day 3 Yangtze River
Cruise
A shore excursion with guide to Shennong
Stream or Lesser Three Gorges,
and then return to the vessel
afterwards.
Today, the
cruise will pass Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. (Breakfast, lunch
and dinner on board)
Day 4 Yangtze River
Cruise
A shore excursion with a guide to Fengdu (The Ghost City, or Snow
Jade Cave), Shibaozai
or Wanxian and return to the vessel afterwards. In the evening you can enjoy the Captain’s Farewell
Banquet. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board)
Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise - Chongqing
Cruise arrives
in Chongqing in the
morning and you will disembark
around 09:00am, then you will be transferred to Chongqing airport for your designated departure
flight. (Breakfast is included)
Chongqing
The youngest municipality of China
is situated at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River.
It is a famous mountain city, known to be the foggy capital and also nicknamed a furnace city.
In addition, it was the Wartime Capital of China during the Second World War. In its
9 years as a municipality, great changes have taken place here. It is now one
of the most energetic cities
of China.
Fengdu
Fengdu City is believed to be the cave residence of the King
of Hades and reflects the ‘ghost’ culture of China since ancient times. The
pleasant scenery contrasts with the unique cultural implication of the caves. It will take you only 5 minutes to
get there by bus and
then switch to the chair lift to get up the mountain for another couple of
minutes. The whole trip lasts around 3 hours.
Snow Jade Cave
This is one of the most beautiful natural caves in the world and is located at the east of
Chongqing. The cave is formed from Karst and created around 50,000 years ago
yet only recently been discovered by local farmers. It has a total length of
1.6 kilometers. You can take a bus there, and the whole trip will last
about 3 hours.
Shibaozhai
Shibaozhai is on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, a 12-story
wooden pagoda built against the side of a sheer rectangular cliff, it is truly a magnificent
structure. Over 400 years old, it has been named the "Pearl of the Yangtze”. It is famous for its
unusual architecture and views from summit. Climbing up there you will have a
good bird’s-eye view of the Yangtze River. You can also climb up inside the
tower and down from the back. The trip will last around 2 hours.
Wanxian
As the gateway of the eastern Sichuan Province, Wanxian is
historically the treaty silk port of Wan Chow. It is popular for its rich harvest of fruit and well
known for its silk spinning and weaving industry. Additional sights
include a museum of Cultural Revolution potpourri, the local market,
traditional beds exhibit and
the museum of hanging coffins.
Shennong Stream
With a length of about
60 kilometers flowing north to south through deep gorges and terminating its
journey by merging with the Yangtze at the mouth of the Wuxia Gorge, the stream permits broad beamed boats to navigate
the narrow waterways with high cliffs and luxurious vegetation where monkeys
and wild goats might be seen. Visiting Shennong stream on a "pea
boat" is a sensational experience. This stream is regarded as one of the most attractive
scenic spots along the river with its unpolluted clear water flowing swiftly
past the gob smacking scenery. The whole trip lasts around 4 hours.
Lesser Three Gorges
Lesser Three Gorges are
three sections of the Wushan valley in mid-stream of Danning River. They
are called "Dragon-Gate Gorge", "Misty Gorge" and
"Emerald Gorge", totaling 60 kilometers in length. The Gorges are
famous for crystal clear rapids and sky scraping cliffs. A motor launch tour
reveals great rustic beauty, local farming and, with luck, a glimpse of wild
monkeys. The whole visit is about 4
hours. If you want to go further in to the gorges, it will take 4.5-5 hours.
The
Three Gorges Dam
Located at Sandouping in Yichang, the Three Gorges Dam is the greatest
water conservancy project in the world to date. It took 70 years to compile and 17 years
to construct. It is the most important project functioning as a backbone for
flood control, power generation, navigation improvement, transferring water
from the South to the North, and development in the reservoir. You can take a sightseeing
bus to the Dam. The whole trip is around 2-3 hours.
